Tara incorporates Repond Systems, Inc. XL 2400 Laser and the 3000 Bio Pulse Field Magnetic Blanket into therapy. They are used as part of the healing process of injuries and daily conditioning and fatigue. The Respond Company is the official supplier to the USET. After discussing with your vet the specific problem your horse is having, take advantage of these powerful tools for faster, stronger recovery. They can be used for issues ranging from calming an anxious horse, chronic injuries, founder, laminitis and tendon injuries.
How magnetic therapy works has always been a bit of a mystery. We know that the earth emits natural magnetic fields that are essential to health and balance. Everyday we are being separated from the natural fields by walking on concrete and working in steel buildings, both of which do not allow magnetic fields to penetrate. The same goes for horses- they stand in concrete stalls (with rubber mats) and wear steel shoes, both unnatural. To help our horses maintain their natural balance, magnetic therapy can be used to help stimulate circulation because magnetic fields penetrate the body. We may not totally understand it, but we know it works! It is used for chronic muscle and joint disease and penetrates bone to encourage faster calcification with less healing time!
Therapeutic Laser Therapy is a very low level, non- heat producing light. Because it does not produce heat there is no danger to the horse. With the light waves dispersing as they penetrate tissue, photosynthesis occurs on a cellular level which stimulates the production of collagen, increases circulation and tensile strength of soft tissue, and flushes the body of toxins and other metabolic waste. Studies have shown that Laser Therapy can cut healing time in half! Laser therapy should not be used if Cortisone is used. The laser is then made ineffective because Cortisone blocks the bodies' natural healing process.
