An open line of communication between instructor and student is the most important aspect of a successful learning experience. PJ has a very patient way about teaching and is very clear in his instruction. Making learning fun, each session is challenging enough to make his students/clients want to do well and learn more. Developing a feel for the horses' mouth is strongly emphasized along with establishing confidence between horse and driver. He encourages them to work outside of their comfort level, making them better at their game and obtaining what they are truly capable of. Learning and having fun with horses is paramount -a personal best is more important than ribbons or score boards. Competition can challenge and test the skills of horse and rider, but it is not required. PJ's students range from 4-H'ers to professional competitive riders. Accomplishments include local wins with a single pony through the spectrum to national championships with a four-in-hand, and more importantly, a whole lot of fun! PJ and Tara are also committed to keeping current in their teaching and riding techniques. They hone their own skills in ongoing training with various world-class trainers, teachers, and instructors.
